For me, Viral Gala, and the entire 360 VR Photography team, the Republic Day event on January 26th at the Red Fort in Delhi was that milestone. It wasn't just a project—it was a deep honor to be entrusted by Doordarshan India to live stream Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s speech in immersive 360° VR.

The experience was nerve-wracking, thrilling, and a career-defining moment of national pride.

🎯 The Call That Changed Everything

The journey began with a prestigious order from Doordarshan to handle the 360° live streaming. It immediately elevated the stakes.

From January 1st onward, the process was intense: we were called to Delhi, our ID proofs were scrutinized, and every piece of our high-tech gear had to undergo rigorous security clearance. From the 21st, we were on mandatory rehearsal duty, coordinating every movement ahead of the final live event.

You don't just "show up" at the Red Fort for a Republic Day event—you earn the right to be there. This demanded perfection, not just technically, but personally.

🎥 Inside the Red Fort: Setting Up a Historic View

On January 26th, the pressure was immense. We arrived at 4:00 AM to the solemn, quiet grandeur of the Red Fort.

Our mission: Perfection by 8:00 AM.

We strategically positioned the Insta360 Pro 2 camera right near the Prime Minister’s stage. It felt surreal—setting up advanced VR equipment in a location so central to India’s history.

• We triple-checked every live feed and network connection.

• We stabilized the dedicated leased line—our single point of failure—to guarantee a flawless, 8K broadcast.

• We coordinated minute-by-minute with Doordarshan’s technical team to ensure the 360° output integrated seamlessly into the national broadcast mixer.

🕗 The Moment of Pride: Standing Beside the Nation

By 8:00 AM, the air was electric. Everything was live and locked down.

And then, the moment arrived. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the stage.

Standing just meters away from the Prime Minister, operating the Insta360 Pro 2, capturing every detail of this historic address in full 360°—it was an emotional experience I will never forget. The three hours of the speech went flawlessly. Our technology performed perfectly, ensuring millions could experience this national moment as if they were right there with us.
